There are many different domain name extensions to choose from – but which one to choose? Well, in my honest opinion, I believe that your first choice should be .com. Why? .com is the most popular TLD (top level domain) on the Internet, and everybody knows it.

In fact, the .com, unlike many other TLDs, has simply become a part of us all and is generally used for commercialized businesses and websites. Even if your website isn’t a business, it doesn’t necessarily mean .com isn’t for you.

There are many people who use .coms for their own personal hobby sites. Simply put, it just sounds and looks more professional than if they were to go with other extensions such as .net or .org.

That being said, you should always look for the .com version of your name before you seek out other choices.

If the .com version of your name has been taken, don’t worry just yet. There are alternatives.

.net and .org are generally the second domains of choice, however it’s really up to you. There’s also .info, .me, and newer .co, but once again, it’s your decision to choose which extension you want. Keep in mind that not all domain extensions cost the same price. Some are more expensive to register.

Here is a list of domain extensions:

.COM
.NET
.ORG
.CO
.INFO
.MOBI
.TRAVEL
.BIZ
.US
.CO.UK
.ASIA
.TV
.CC
.BZ
.ME.UK
.ORG.UK
.ME

What has said to be the best domain name in the multi-billion dollar Internet industry, is now up for sale in a private auction, held by DomainConsultant.com.

www.DomainName.com

Mike Fiol, Managing Director of DomainConsultant.com, has stated that DomainName.com means instant entry and share of the domain registration market, which manages roughly 150 million names worldwide.

“It means instant entry and share of the domain registration market, which manages roughly 150 million names worldwide,” says Mike Fiol, Managing Director of DomainConsultant.com, a ‘collective’ of successful market veterans. “This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own a singular property,” concludes Fiol. “And once it’s gone, it’s gone for good.”

Flipping domains for profit is a very satisfying and thrilling way to make money online. So what exactly is flipping domains? Well, it’s a relatively simple concept. Simply put, it’s buying domains for less and selling them for more. Registering a new domain, and selling it for more than the amount you paid to register it can also be considered flipping.

Domainers, the term given to people who flip domains, have been flipping domains since the earliest days of the Internet. Many people have become rich from flipping domains, while others not so much. There are many people out there who make a living from flipping domains full-time. It’s really only people who know what they’re doing that become successful from flipping domains. By blindly flipping domains, you’re essentially speculating, which is just another word for gambling.

That being said, if you want to start flipping domains for profit, then I would highly suggest learning everything before you begin. Fill yourself with knowledge and read about “domaining” as much as you possibly can. That way, you will minimize making mistakes and will avoid losing lots of money like the millions of people before you.

Finding the right domain name is perhaps one of the most difficult things to do when starting up a new website. Many webmasters that I know of simply do not know how to select a proper domain name. A domain name is really one of the most important aspects of a website. I personally believe it can make or break your website, and can significantly affect its success in both long-term and short-term moments of its life.

In this post, I will share with you three brief, yet very essential tips on how to properly choose your domain name.

Keep it Short
Your domain name should be short and simple. Don’t make it too long, and try to avoid using multiple words in your domain name. The most number of words you should have in your domain name is a maximum of 3 – 4 words. Anything above that is a huge no-no. People really don’t fancy typing in long names into their web browser address all the time, so keep it short and simple!

Keep it Memorable
Your domain name should also be very memorable. It shouldn’t require any effort to remember what it was. It’s a known fact that domains that are memorable get a higher percentage of returning visitors. Take our domain for example – YoungDomainer.com. It’s easily memorable for anybody who is young and into domaining.

Keep it Brandable
Apart from being short and memorable, your domain name should also be brandable and unique. Don’t make it generic. Make it something you can easily say and talk about. The more brandable it is, the more memorable it will become too. Essentially, you’re killing two birds with one stone if you keep it brandable.
